Ogof Ap Robert Description

Ogof Ap Robert is a small swallet cave, where the stream disappears into the base of a 10m high cliff face in a shakehole. The cave is located high on the moors about a mile from the old Trefil limestone quarries (map). The cave is a series of rift passages that have sections running through boulder chokes and some loose rocks, that eventually leads down into the impressive Toad Hall with water showering into the centre. A lower series entered by crawling under unstable boulders in the floor of Toad Hall takes you to the end of the cave where a short ladder pitch takes you to the stream that enters an unpenetrated boulder choke.
