The entrance to Ogof Pasg is found high up in the face of Herbert's Quarry, on the Brynamman to Llangadog road (map). A dangerous climb up a shoulder in the centre of the top level of the quarry leads to a traverse round to the left to find the cave entrance. Some large passages with fine calcite formations are found in the first section of the cave with a couple of side passages that lead off to tight muddy crawls. The main passage passes calcite covered boulders that lead down to a pool that sumps in wet weather. Going across the boulders the passage height lowers in a straw covered section to lead to the top of a 10m pitch that bypasses the pool. A handline is useful to allow you to descend the slope to a point where a ladder can be rigged from two 8mm spits. Otherwise rig the ladder with 10m+ tether from the top of the slope. This drops into a waist deep canal that leads to some passages with fine calcite formations and then degenerates into crawls and squeezes that link through to Ogof Foel Fawr.
